First let me say, I really really wanted to hate the return of the cropped top, but I can't deny it any longer - I LOVE IT!! The crop top has gone classy!
The key to keeping crop tops classy rather than trashy, is pairing them with more modest and ladylike pieces - think high waisted pants, midi skirts, suits and pretty patterns. Also, just showing a few inches above your belly button is a welcome update to the Pretty Woman-esque looks of the early 90s (unless of course you're as effortlessly cool as blondie, below in the black and white striped skirt).
Black and white takes on an entirely new shade of sassy when it shows just a peak of a toned tummy. Bring in a pop of color with an oversized clutch or peep toe pumps to offset the unexpected flash of stomach skin.

Instead of showing off your cleavage think about paying respect to all those pilates classes, and pairing a sophisticated cropped blouse with high waisted pants. Keep it casual with easy fitting silk pants and sophisticated sandals or mean business by pairing a cropped blouse with a suit.

And finally, if you've been wondering what to wear with a midi skirt? Look no further. A sweet cropped blouse and a below the knee skirt (full or pencil cut) is a fresh way to stay cool this summer.

I love it yet I hate it at the same time. I love it when it's done right - and I hate that I can't wear it!

I'm obsessed with this look and if you get the right proportions for your body, I think it can be so flattering! Well..on the super brave. That last look is one of my faves and my inspiration for the look. I also love that little Tucker top! xoox

I'm with you there! But I too couldn't help but fall in love. I think they look best teamed with high waisted bottoms, anything else kinda looks tacky for me

Such great inspiration! I know that these are trending but I think that in order to feel confident I would have to hold plank pose for a good few hours! ha ha :)
ReplyDeleteI love all of these, especially the navy blue cropped shirt and the black cropped polo neck. Maybe I need to get to the gym to wear one of these though...
