OK, OK, it's not lunchtime, but with that small detail overlooked let's get down to business. If you had to choose, would you step out in Charlotte Olympia Kitty Flats or Marc Jacobs Studded Mouse Flats? Both come in a variety of colors and have cute little ear details. The difference here is that the Kitty flats come in the form of a must have smoking slipper and the Mouse flats embrace the tough love stud trend.
Mara Hoffman Swim 2013 Collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, Miami
"Desert outlaws gypsies"- Just the theme alone of Mara Hoffman's 2013 show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim had me hooked. Add in her signature prints, beaded necklines and breezy dresses and I'm officially an addict. For her swim 2013 runway show Mara Hoffman adorned her boho babes with ankle boots and statement necklaces creating an enviable attitude of chic undone. As usual the collection was filled with vibrant colors and details such as braiding and cut-outs that take swimwear from casual to couture.
I've been a fan for a couple years and her pieces are so unique and beautiful that I wear my Mara Hoffman bustier bikini come pool or party (see how I styled it here). This summer I have my eye on a few Mara Hoffman items in stores and lucky for me, it's sale time!Mara Hoffman In Stores Now (left to right): Beaded Trim Deep V-neck Suit *on sale $170; Embroidered 4 Strap Bikini *on sale $132; Maya Printed Beach Robe $395; Chiffon Dashiki Cover Up $440; Maya Printed Triangle Bikini $195; Beaded Rays One Piece *on sale $184; Beaded Cups Model Dress $341
This image from the December 2011 cover of World of Interiors captures my heart every time I see it. The taxidermy 'unicorns' are situated in the entry hall of the whimsical Chateau de la Goujeonnerie in France, which was renovated and decorated by the extravagant trio ( Hassan Abdullah, Michel Lasserre and Stefan Karlson) behind Les Trois Garcons in London. This gorgeous pair of unicorns perfectly captures the exaggerated yet sophisticated style the designers are known for and make for the perfect way to step into a fairytale.
The mystical (yet kinda creepy) unicorn heads that adorn the walls of the restaurant of the Faena Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina make me determined to one day dine there. The crimson eyes of the decorative unicorn heads could surely transport you to a dream land after a few cocktails...
Dallas interior designer Louise Kemp did not forget fairytale elements when designing her home. She combined a unique 19th century plaster unicorn with modern art and furnishings as well as more classical french chairs to create a stunning living area.
Now it's official. I believe in Unicorns. Do you?
I'm assembling my fall "must list" and if I can rationalize it, Rebecca Taylor's pleated leather skirt will be claiming a spot in my closet. Have no fear, if real leather isn't your thing, Free People's faux leather skirt looks like a close comparison. The majority of my rationalization process is convincing myself that it would only be fiscally practical to buy the leather skirt now, rather than wait until September, in order to get maximum wear out of it. So, without further ado...
Pleated leather skirt: Rebecca Taylor $495; Now: Kain silk tank, Shourouk sequin and crystal earrings (also seen here), Shourouk Phenix crystal cuff, Rebecca Minkoff Mini MAC clutch, B Brian Atwood Amata flats Later: Vince cowl sweater, Stella McCartney chunky knit beanie, Jerome Dreyfuss Billy shoulder bag, See by Chloe knee high boots
I would love to pair Rebecca Taylor's skirt with a silk camisole and flats for now and then transition into knee high boots and cashmere sweaters when the weather gets chilly. By the way, those See by Chloe boots, I'm dying over them as well! What's your take on leather during the summer months? Me personally,I'm thinking it's a go ;)
Not just for kids anymore, hot pink has gone haute. The fashion blogger community has been having a hot pink color moment this summer, and from dresses to interiors, I can't stop pinning shades of pink.
All items J.Crew: Toothpick cord $98, Silk Cami $55, Collection No.2 pencil skirt in sequins $695; Cashmere long-sleeve tee $188, Pleated skirt $128, Merino V-neck sweater $79
Few retailers transform vibrant colors into classics as well as J.Crew, and I love how they've styled their hot pink sweaters, skirts, camis and pants into outfits that transition from summer to fall. By incorporating the hue with sophisticated shapes in traditional cold weather fabrics (cashmere, wool, corduroy) and pairing them with warm browns and denim, J.Crew makes it possible to wear pink year around.
I'm currently crushing on chain heavy jewelry and can't wait to get my hands on a few pieces to add to my collection of bling. Either classic gold or edgy mixed metal, chain link necklaces and bracelets instantly take a classic white tee and jeans to a fashion forward level. Now you know what I'll be shopping for this weekend. What about you. And don'f forget, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale starts today!!!
Equipment Tegan Midi Dress in Denim and Barry, $298
It's mid week and time to talk about a wardrobe staple that should be in every career women's closet, the shirtdress. They're easy to throw on in a rush when you want to look polished and can be dressed down with flat sandals for weekend wear. At the moment I'm in love with the above Equipment Tegan midi dress - it can be both classy and sassy and will be easy to take from summer into fall with the addition of boots and a blazer. And now, a few options I would love to have in my closet, found from my guilty pleasure, Shopbop!
Club Monaco Eve Dress $198; Tribune Standard Slashed Shoulder shirtdress $397; Juicy Couture Yorkshire Foliage Dress $228; T by Alexander Wang Silk & Mesh Combo Shirtdress $285
Thayer Shirtdress $298; Thakoon Asymmetrical shirtdress $790; Splendid V Neck shirtdress $108; Thakoon Addition Seamed shirtdress$425
From playful patterns to simply chic solids, there are plenty of options on the market to please everyone. One of the best things about shirtdresses are that plenty of them fall loosely enough to help hide "fat days" and conversely belting them gives you a sexy hourglass silhouette.
Since I like to practice what I preach, I had one of my coworkers snap an iPhone photo of me Monday in the silky ikat print shirtdress I bought this weekend at Anthropologie. I decided to sass it up with a thick black and gold belt and pointed wedges but kept my jewelry and handbag simple to let the pattern take center stage.
It's the middle of summer, and I can't stop daydreaming of my fall wardrobe. When I saw these studded leather gloves appear on Net-a-Porter I instantly added them to my lust list. At $445 Valentino's Rockstud leather gloves will set you back a pretty penny, but that's a small price to pay for something fashionable and functional, right? Supple black leather, strategically placed cut outs and blush pink straps adorned with pale gold pyramid studs allow them to take your cold weather wear from lady to lover in a heartbeat.
Well, it's the weekend!! Break out your sparkle and celebrate with sequins. If you've been reading for long you've probably noticed that I'm more rock-chic than girly-glam, so I've done my homework and found sequin numbers that say PARTY rather than precious. Sequin leggings anyone??
Recently, I was "pinned on" to a fabulous collection of affordable art prints, Cozamia. The artist, Nancy Ramirez, uses portions of colorful abstract paintings and elements of photographs to rework digitally into something new. She is inspired by everything from fashion magazines to nature and always adds a happy element of surprise to her work.

One of the things I love most about Cozamia prints, besides the price (average $35 to $130) is the unique combinations of high color saturation and the way each piece can convey a mood through design. I also happen to love the way the art is styled on the website, which shows you how to use the bold pieces to bring a room to life.

I'm eyeing Brittle Stars in baby blue for my home office. Do you have a favorite?
I have a new label lust **shocker;)** and it goes by the name of Dagmar. The Swedish based House of Dagmar was launched by three sisters in 2005 and has steadily grown in prestige throughout the fashion industry. The line is known for being both unconventional and sophisticated and has the artistic "downtown" feel that I look for in my favorite brands.
The founding sisters define the brand as "arty chic" and are continually inspired by their late grandmother, Dagmar. She herself was a tailor and inspired their love of fashion from a young age. Many of the pieces in Dagmar are hand knitted or have hand crafted details, which pay homage to traditions from the past.
Dagmar items are edgy yet sensual, graphic yet feminine, and trendy yet classic. The line is known for its Art Deco inspiration and always has a plethora of statement pieces. Currently you can find Dagmar on Asos, but keep an eye out for its debut on Net-a-Porter soon.*Images courtesy of House of Dagmar

Issue alert! I feel as if my wardrobe is missing out on a key summer staple, the denim vest. Two trend setters that rock jean vests with casual confidence are Hedvig of The Northern Light and model Kate King. Take Hedvig's cue and top off a summer dress with a denim vest or add one to skinny jeans and heels to create urban appeal. For more laid back ladylike looks I love the way King combined her distressed vest with a billowy floor grazing skirt one day and an accordion pleated skirt on another. One of the best things about the denim vest trend is that you don't have to break the bank; check out a few of my favorite finds below.

Looking for a shoe that will take you from this summer into the fall? Then indulge your preppy side and slip into a pair of loafers. From pink jersey to orange tapestry, loafers are the "it" shoe for designers to play with fabrication on. On my lust list are Jimmy Choo studded leather loafers but seeing that those are a bit out of my wallet's reach I'm "must listing" Sam Edelman's mirrored cap toe 'Aster' flat. Do you have a favorite?
It's that time again. The time to put down your pens and pick up your beer, and say...Happy Birthday, America! What better way to honor the 4th of July than by admiring some fashionable American flag attire. Dsquard2's Spring 2012 collection was filled with boho babes rocking down the runway in garb saluting the flag. Although the muses were meant to be at the Glastonbury festival in England, you can't deny the not so subtle nod to Americana.
And since there's nothing better than a little fashionable irreverence (no pun intended), please enjoy some of the sexy American flag filled pics from Dsquared2's Spring Summer 2012 campaign. Finally, have a fabulously fun Fourth of July:)
