Cozy Chic in Sequins and Sweaters

It has been COLD here in San Francisco the past few days, making me want to throw on a comfy thick knit and curl up for the weekend. But, taking a cue from the fashion frontier, I may have to add a dash of glam to my weekend wear by combining an comfy sweater with something sequined.
From sequin pants to sequin skirts to sequin blazers, there isn't any item that doesn't gain a comfortable chic look by adding a chunky knit. Liz from Late Afternoon paired her sequin skirt with a tribal print cardigan and booties to give it a downtown edge.

Taylor Tomasi Hill turned cocktail attire on it's head by pairing a sexy sequin skirt with a tucked in dark sweater. Wendy's Lookbook blogger gave daytime a new meaning when she wore black sequin leggings with an oversized sweater.

No one does juxtapositions like fashion editors. My gal Tay Tay rocking a print sequin skirt with a boyfriend sweater up top. Joanna Hill combines a classic fisherman sweater with J.Crew sequin pants and lace up boots to channel "rustic chic".
And of course, if you can't stand the cold but need to channel your inner rock star with a sequin blazer, keep cozy with a knit scarf. So, how would I  style sequins and chunky knits? Here you go.

Day: Haute Hippie Fairisle sweater (similar here), Donna Karen Sequin Leggings, Jeffrey Campbell Moto Boots. Night: TopShop Shoulder Zip Sweater, TopShop Sequin Skirt, Alexander Wang Sabine Pumps

For day, glam sequin leggings paired with tough moto inspired boots and an oversized fair isle sweater look cool and comfortable. For a dressier affair try going monochromatic so the sequin and knit textures really play off of each other. I would choose a deep burgundy hue and keep the sequin skirt slim to add some sexiness to the chunky sweater.
