Trend Alert: FRINGE BENEFITS

The Spring 2012 runways were full of shimmer and sass, with fringe aplenty. From Oscar de la Renta's fairy tale pastels to Gucci's fierce flapper inspired numbers, designers have taken the 1920's fashion trademark into the twenty-first century. Below are just a few of my favorite looks from the runway.

Top Row: Ralph Lauren, Oscar de la Renta, Herve Leger, Marchesa. Bottom Row: Julien Macdonald, Gucci , Jen Kao (Fall '12), Temperley

If a flapper inspired dress isn't your style, try adding an an unexpected flair to your outfit with a  tasseled gilet (which I'm drooling over). I'm also loving all of Brian Atwood's tasseled shoes this season, which is an easy way to ease into the spring trend without looking like you just spent the night dancing in a speakeasy.

OMG I love everything!!!! I am dying over that Asos dress but something tells me I won't have a ton of places to wear it... The Temperley one would be fab for a wedding! xoxo elizabeth

  25. I have to admit I'm always a bit hesitant when it comes to fringe. I don't like it used with the cowboy look, but love it in the flapper dress (30's style). These pics of the several shows are fantastic, it is clearly returning as a fashion.

Thanks for becoming a follower! I'm following back.
